Naust Paa Aure by TYIN Tegnestue

A project based on tradition and sense of place

Strips of glazing wrap around this Timber
water side house in Aure, Norway.
The building is made up from materials
salvaged from a dilapidated boat house
on the house and new grey patinated pine
(created using norwegian pine and impregnating
it with a by-product from the sugar cane industry,
which will give grey
patina.)

Flaps in the side can be opened up to link
the interior to the outside deck.
The simplicity of its shape
is enhanced by the seamless materiality.
Windows from the clients farmhouse were
also reused.
